After The Storm
December 17, 2016
4 or 5 pm is my go-to time for outdoor portraits. Here near the equator, the sun goes down quickly, and late afternoon usually gives us the best chance of flattering light. However, during the rainy season in Papua New Guinea, an afternoon photo appointment always makes me nervous, since it's likely to pour after lunch.
We did get a downpour on this day, but the skies cleared just in time and the world was freshly scrubbed clean and ready for us! We got our feet muddy, but ended up with some good shots with the lovely hills of the Aiyura valley in the background.
